Securly Home (Filtering & Monitoring)

In today’s digital age, keeping our pupils safe online is a collaborative effort. As the digital world doesn’t stop when the school gates close, we want to ensure you are fully equipped to support your child’s online journey both during the busy term and throughout the school holidays.

To help us achieve this, we are pleased to introduce a new partnership and provide clarity on our monitoring procedures outside of school hours.

1. Introducing Securly Home

We are excited to announce that Radley Schools Group has partnered with Securly Home, a free app designed to give you visibility and control when school devices are used at home.

With the Securly Home app, you can stay informed through several key features:

Real-Time Activity Feed: See a history of the websites your child visits and the searches they make.

Pause Internet Access: Turn off internet access on the school device with a single tap.

Weekly Reports: Receive an automated summary of your child’s weekly online activity sent straight to your inbox.

How to get started: Getting set up takes less than five minutes:

• Fill in the online form: Securly parent form

• Follow the instructions sent to you in the subsequent welcome email.

2. Safeguarding and Monitoring Outside of School Hours

When we reach the holidays, many pupils will continue to use school-managed devices for learning and recreation. We have updated our policy regarding filtering and monitoring to ensure a proportionate approach:

Filtering (Always Active)

Our filtering systems remain fully operational 24/7. Whether your child is using their school device in the classroom or on your home Wi-Fi, the system will continue to block access to inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content.

Monitoring (proportionate approach outside school hours)

While our systems continue to log concerning online behaviour or searches during evenings, weekends and holidays, alerts are not reviewed by staff in real-time. During Term time the staff oversee these alerts actively.

• During Holidays: Alerts are recorded and will be reviewed by our safeguarding team once the school reopens.

3. Your Role as Partners

Because immediate safeguarding support is not provided by the school during holidays, we ask that parents and carers take the lead in supervising online activity. We encourage you to:

• Talk openly with your child about safe online behaviour.

• Monitor device use periodically.

• Ensure access is limited to age-appropriate apps and games.
